William Scott was a 40 year old livery stable proprietor when he enlisted. Private Scott was taken on strength on 31st July 1916 with the 24th Battalion. He became ill in November the same year and was evacuated to England suffering from bronchitis and rheumatism. He returned to France in February 1917 but just weeks later was evacuated to England once more where he was eventually boarded and sent home for discharge being medically unfit with rheumatism.
