Service Story
AKA Tinkie Lewis to his family, was born at Swansea and was working as a labourer in December 1914 when he volunteered for enlistment. Served on Gallipoli with the 12th Battalion until evacuated sick in November 1915. Transferred to the 52nd Battalion in early 1916 . In 1918 he was promoted to the rank of lance corporal and transferred to the 4th Division Train until December 1918 when he returned to Australia. He later married and lived with his wife at 180 Argyle Street, Hobart.
