Service Story

On the 25th of September 1915 (WW1) a Tasman Jeffrey and aged 36 was enlisted into the Australian army and served for our country has a light horseman. Tasman was apart of the Australian Remount Unit 1, squadron 4 and his regimental number was 1110. Tasman’s unit was dispatched from Melbourne and was transported by A67 Orsova on the 12th of November 1915. Tasman Jeffrey returned to Australia on the 13 of October 1918 medically unfit. Before he was enlisted into the armed forces Tasman’s occupation was of a labourer, and lived on 90 Brisbane street, Hobart, Tasmania. Tasman Jeffrey had survived two wars, but a supperative appendix caused his demise at aged 47 leaving behind a wife and two children.
