Service Story

Henry Waters, a miner from Waratah, signed up with the A.I.F. at the age of 26, on the 2nd  of September 1915. On the 29th January, 1916 he embarked aboard the HMAT Runic from Fremantle with the 12th Battalion. During his experience at war he served in England and France. He spent some time at Edmonton Hospital, England as a result of wounds received to his left elbow in action at Pozieres in July 1916. He returned to Australia and was discharged medically unfit on 21st June 1917.
