Private Frank Edward Clark was born in Perth, Tasmania and worked as a labourer in Hobart before he enlisted on the 14th April 1916 at the age of 38. He embarked from Adelaide, South Australia on board HMAT A48 Seang Bee on 10th February 1917 with the rest of the 12th Battalion reinforcements. He returned to Australia on 26th September 1917 having been boarded at Larkhill on 27 August 1917 and found to be overage. He was discharged with general disability and returned to the care his wife Nellie.
