Service Story

On the 19th of May, 1917, Daniel Purcell, a married farmer from Molesworth, signed up to the war at the age of 26. During his service, he served in the 12th and 40th Battalions. Daniel Pursell embarked on the HMAT A32 on the 4th August, 1917 and arrived on the battlefields of France on 2nd October, 1918. During his time at war he served in England and France. He was wounded in action in France. Before heading home to Australia in 1919, Daniel spent additional time in France with the Australian Corps School.
