Reginald Charles Atkinson and Roy Benjamin Masters
Reginald and Roy are unlikely to have known each other prior to meeting at the Claremont Army Camp. Reginald was a farmer from Yolla, while Roy worked as a carter and was living at Exton. Both were of a similar age and may have simply been allotted to the same tent where they became friends. Rather than have their photo taken with the camp as part of the background, Reginald and Roy chose the studio instead with both looking very serious indeed.
All soldiers signed on for the duration of the war plus four months. This did not ap-ply to the men who enlisted later in 1918. As mentioned they were given leave and then formally discharged as of 31 December 1918.
