Harry ‘Boy’ Brown

Harry ‘Boy’ Brown was wounded at Mouquet Farm in early September 1916 sustaining a shrapnel wound to his left hand. In December he sustained a shell concussion and was evacuated to England for treatment and returned to Australia in April 1917. He also had hospital treatment for shell shock after being buried alive. Henry Brown returned to Cape Barren Island to live where he later married. Harry died there in December 1947, his war wounds contributing to his death and is buried in the local cemetery.
